James "Jim" Dennis was the oldest son of Dave and Martha Dennis. He was a farmer who took great pride in his orchard where he grew all types of fruits and vegetables. He married Jane Moore, a teacher in the Sabine County Public Schools. Jane was a lover of people and got great satisfaction from helping them. She enjoyed helping people gain the knowledge and attitudes they needed to become responsible citizens, earn a living and lead useful, rewarding lives. These ideals have been inherited and carried out by each of her generations.

Jim and Jane were the proud parents of three children - Robert, "Buddy", Bruce and Pliney Anita.

I. Robert "Buddy", like h is father, loved farming in his younger years. Later years he worked for the Naval Base and Kirby Lumber Company.
Married: Maggie Hollis, who retired from the Orange Memorial Hospital. Maggie loved traveling and entertaining. She toured at least 44 of the 48 states in the United States.
Children: Two daughters - Edell and Marcene
II. Bruce died at an early age
III. Pliney Anita, like her mother, became a teacher. She attended Wiley College and received both her Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees from Texas Southern University. She retired as a master teacher from the Houston Independent School District.
Married: George R. Rich, who retired from the Galleria Bank, Houston, George was a man of many talents and loved people and enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.

I. Edell, like her mother, retired from the Dietary Department, Orange Memorial Hospital, Orange, Texas.
Married: Willie Allen Wright, who retired from Harding Lawler Building Supplies, Orange, Texas
Children: Herbert James, Alpha Fern, Albert "Tommy", and Willie Faye
II. Marcene, Like her Grandmother Jane and Aunt Pliney, became a teacher. She received both a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees from Texas Southern University. She retired as a teacher from the Los Angeles, California Public Schools and currently lives in Houston, Texas.

I. Herbert - Computer Programmer at NASA and the City of Houston and a United Methodist minister. Herbert attended Prairie View A & M University and Texas Southern University.
Married: Charlene Blueitt, a retired teacher - Houston Independent School District.
Children: Twarnia
II. Alpha, like great-grandmother Jane, Aunt Pliney and Marcene, is a former teacher and presently serving as a librarian in the Houston Independent School District. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Southern University and Masters of Library Science from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas

Married: C. Ray Henderson, State of Texas Mortician and Embalmer and Professional Photographer, Houston.
Children: Alan Otto
III. Albert "Tommy" - Received Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Southern University and Corrective Therapy Certification from Tuskegee Institute. Presently, he is a used car dealer in Houston, Texas.

Married: Joy S. Pittman, a dietitian for the State of Texas
