Tom was the tenth child of Dave and Martha Dennis. Tom married Elizabeth Canton who was the daughter of Jim and Ada Thompkins Canton.

Tom and Elizabeth had eleven children. A. J. (Jabo), Lemon, Jurley, Cree, Earlee, Ben, Love, Louis, Loy, Berline and Doris Lee.

Tom and Elizabeth lived in Geneva, Texas with their children. Tom later moved to Orange, Texas and Elizabeth moved with her children to San Augustine, Texas. There with the help of her father, she raised her sons and daughters to be fine honorable citizens.

As the children became adults and established their own families, they resided in several Texas cities. Elizabeth and her son, Ben moved to Magnolia, Texas with her daughter, Lemon. Later, she moved to Houston to live with Louis and his family.

Doris Lee, Berline, Love, Loy and Cora also moved to Houston. Jabo and Cree remained withtheir families in San Augustine. Lemon moved to Magnolia, Texas after her husband's death, later she remarried. Earlee married an moved to Beaumont, Texas. Berline moved to California where she lived for many years and later returned to Houston until her death. The Tom Dennis Family has produced many fine offsprings in various fields of work. The remaining siblings are Earlee, Love, Louise and Cora.
