Sudie Dennis was the second child of Dave and Martha Dennis. She was born in Sabine County, Texas on February 19, 1871. Her husband was Arthur McCoy, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Billie McCoy. He was born in Sabine County, Texas on June 18, 1871.

Arthur and Sudie united in holy matrimony on December 24, 1895. To this union, thirteen (13) children were born, they were: Port Arthur, Melvin (Sweet), Willie, Cleveland (Buddy), Andrew, Johnnie, Dave, Henry, Mattie, Roberta, Lillie, and two died at childbirth (their names were unknown).

Arthur and Sudie raised their children with a strong sense of family pride, value and respect for hard work. Family pride and unity continue to thrive in this growing McCoy Family.

At the time of Sudie's death on September 25, 1975, she and Arthur had 27 grandchildren, 1000 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
